ROYAL HILLSBOROUGH
COURTHOUSE AND FORT
Historic Royal Palaces, in partnership with Belfast Region City Deal and Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, is preparing local planning applications seeking permission for the conservation, restoration and enhancement of Hillsborough Courthouse, Fort and the Dark Walk to support the overall improvement of Royal Hillsborough’s heritage‑led tourism offer.
The proposals include repairs and improvements to Hillsborough Fort and Gatehouse to make them more accessible and better suited for events.
Before finalising and submitting this planning application to Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, the project team invited the community to comment on the plans, which concluded on Monday 20th July.
